HBO Working On An Andre The Giant Documentary

HBO is planning to release a documentary on Andre the Giant, according to Vanity Fair. HBO has enlisted the talents of a former ESPN 30 For 30 director to work on the documentary about the WWE Hall of Famer.

Page Six also confirmed the news, writing:

"Among the squad of talents who followed Simmons out the door from ESPN is Jonathan Hock, whose documentary subjects have included the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” hockey team, college basketball coach Jim Valvano, and Cuban-born Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant. Hock’s first doc for HBO is said to be on pro wrestler Andre the Giant, the French farm boy who grew up to be 7-foot-4 and 500 pounds."

Andre the Giant, who was born André Roussimoff, worked for WWE (then WWF) between 1973 and 1991, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1993, before passing away that same year at the age of 46.

There's currently no word on when the documentary will be released.
