WWE originally had a singles match between Baron Corbin and Kalisto in mind for their SummerSlam pay-per-view, which took place this past Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Because the company ended up with more than a dozen matches booked for one of the early drafts of the show, they went with the decision to drop the Corbin-Kalisto match from the card altogether.
They could have kept the match on the lineup, but instead of taking time away from other matches to have a couple of minutes for a Corbin-Kalisto match that likely wouldn't of meant much, particularly in comparison to the way many of the bigger matches turned out., but ultimately decided to go the other way with things.
