-- WWE and Jeff Hardy parted ways last month but it appears that there were significant plans in place for Hardy that were suddenly needing to be shelved. According to fightfulselect.com, there were plans for Hardy to make an NXT run along with major plans on the main roster through January. The report notes that prior to his release in December, Hardy was expected to be the "Shaman" for MSK and when he was gone from the company just days before the reveal, WWE had to scramble hard and use Matt Riddle as the replacement, rushing in Riddle to film content with MSK to pull off the angle.
-- The report further adds that there were "numerous" segments on the cutting room floor which would have featured Jeff as The Shaman though it's not clear if Hardy going to join MSK for a match against the Imperium as is now booked with Riddle. Hardy was released almost a month ago after refusing rehab, which he claimed he didn't need.
