Kyle O’Reilly Said His Sister Was “Freaking Out” After His Injury Angle On NXT

An angle took place this past February where NXT Star Kyle O'Reilly was dropped on his head on top of the ringside steel steps, with Adam Cole hitting him with a Brainbuster and as a result, O'Reilly was stretchered out of the CWC. With O'Reilly appearing to be knocked out cold and having medical issues, it was speculated that he was legitimately hurt and he was suffering a seizure, but it was noted that the angle was merely done to further his feud with Adam Cole.

Kyle O'Reilly recently spoke with TV Insider, where he revealed that his sister, along with the fans, thought he was really in a bad way and that his sister was really worried and freaking out.

Kyle O'Reilly said:

“My sister [was really worried]. That was the first thing she saw was this rumor on Twitter before I’d even had the chance to give her a call and let her know I was okay.” “She called me in hysterics freaking out. That made me sad because here is someone who is family who sees something on Twitter and was concerned."

“I knew [social media’s speculation] came from a caring and genuine place. They were concerned. I can’t fault anyone for that.”

Kyle O'Reilly then talked about shifting his focus as well as his mindset from being part of a stable in The Undisputed ERA to a singles star.

Kyle O'Reilly said:

“It has certainly been challenging.” “I’ve had singles experience, but this is new for me coming to WWE and NXT. Those singles matches were few and far between. It has definitely put me into the deep end. I’ve grown and evolved because we all have those dreams of becoming a singles champion in WWE. I love tag team wrestling, and I think I’m a good tag team wrestler. But this is something new.”

Kyle O'Reilly is set to compete in a Fatal 5-Way Match at this Sunday's TakeOver: In Your House Event against NXT Champion Karrion Kross, Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole with the NXT Title being defended.
