Report: AEW Hires Former WWE Vice President of Communications

-- AEW has snagged another former WWE backstage official, according to pwinsider.com. Adam Hopkins, who most recently had the title of WWE VP of Communications has joined AEW after being let go from WWE after a distinguished career of more than 25 years. It's not known what role Hopkins will fill with AEW, but given his extensive background in Public Relations, it is believed he would be working in that department for AEW. Hopkins reportedly already started with AEW last week.

-- Hopkins joined WWE back in September 1997 and was pretty much the face of WWE's PR department for the next quarter of a century, starting first in the Fan Services department before moving to a Director role and finally a VP role all within the same communications department. He was the man responsible for handling most of the media requests that WWE would get, sending out corporate communications and offering up official statements when needed. In years past and at a time when relations between WWE and the media who covered them was strained, Hopkins served as an important liaison and helped break down many walls.
