-- Last month, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter ran a story discussing Vince McMahon's departure from WWE and the potential of him returning to the wrestling industry by heading up a new, start-up promotion once his non-compete clause ran out. While most agreed that this was unlikely given McMahon's age and reputation, it was still a possibility.
-- The Observer posted an update in this week's issue and cited a source close to McMahon who admitted that while McMahon is looking into starting up some "business opportunities" once he clears his name, the idea of starting a new wrestling promotion isn't something that he is considering at this time. The feeling is that while McMahon has a proven track record, it would be nearly impossible for him to start from scratch and compete against a hugely successful WWE.
